With the rise of TikTok, video is measured in seconds rather than minutes. This is the way that a younger generation now communicates.

India is at the forefront of this experiment and has experience both opportunities and challenges from this new type of short-form expression.

Shalini will talk about her first-hand experience working with media organizations across India trying to learn from the micro-vlogging phenomenon and its implications for mainstream, civic and citizen journalism.
